DUBAI, UAE, February 24 , 2013 – Qatar basketball team made a new glory for the country after they confidently won the title of the GCC 3x3 Basketball Championship 2013 concluded in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Saturday.
Qatar team “A” made a convincing a 21-16 victory over Qatar team “ B” to win together the title and the first and second places respectively , while KSA team finished in the third place.
Mr. Mohammed Ali Hobesh, the Chairman of the GCC basketball Organising Committee, Mr. Saadoun Al Kowari, the Secretary General, Major –General, Ismail Al Gergawi, the President of UAE Basketball Association crowned the top winners in a festive scene on Saturday.
His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani the President of Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) appreciated the players effort and congratulated the team delegation on this dazzling achievement.
The QBF Chief also extended thanks to the UAE Basketball Association for the warm hospitality and the professionalism in securing significant success for the event at both technical and organisational levels.
The prestigious event was organised by UAE Basketball Association in Dubai and brought together 5 GCC nations, including Qatar, KSA, Bahrain, Oman and hosts United Arab Emirates.
