Qatar Win GCC Youth Basketball Championship

Dubai, UAE, September 08, 2013- The Qatari youth basketball team won the title of the GCC Basketball Championship after beating Kuwait 81-64 on Saturday.
The event was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates with participation of Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and hosts United Arab Emirates.
The victory over Kuwait braced the Qatari team to lead the standings of the event with five consecutive victories.
Bahrain occupied the second place while Kuwait finished third.
Mohammad Ali Hobash, Chairman of the GCC Basketball Organising Committee and Acting Secretary General of the Qatari Basketball Federation (QBF) and Saadoun Al Kuwairi, Secretary General of the GCC Basketball Organising Committee and Executive Director of the QBF attended crowning ceremony.Mohammad Ali Hobash congratulated the QBF officials under leadership of HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on winning the title.The Qatari delegation will return to Doha on Sunday.
