Qatar open FIBA 3x3 World Championships campaign with victory

GUANGZHOU, China, October 12, 2016 – Qatar team opened their campaign in the prestigious FIBA 3x3 World Championships on high note by defeating Italy 19-15 in opening match held in Guangzhou, China on Tuesday.

Qatari squad made impressive performance against Italy, but unfortunately suffered a shock 21-16 defeat at the hands of Serbia in the second match on Tuesday.

The Qatari team is due to shake hands with both Russia and New Zealand in Thursday’s fixtures.

The draw pooled Qatar’s national 3x3 basketball team in heavy-weight group A which includes Serbia, Russia, Italy and New Zealand.
