Qatar lose to Iran in FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

TEHRAN, November 28, 2017- The Qatari basketball team suffered a 39-65 defeat against their Iranian counterparts in the second match of the Asian qualifications to the 2019 FIBA World Cup in Tehran on Monday.

rsalan Kazemi ruled the boards with 17 rebounds to prop up Iran's cause, while the scoring cudgels fell on the shoulders of Meisam Mirzaei, Sajjad Mashayekhi and Vahid Dalirzahan, who put up 14, 13 and 10 points respectively.

Qatari players could not find any rhythm in yesterday's game, and they absorbed their second loss in Group D. Abdulrahman Saad was the top contributor for Al Annabi with 18 points.

Qatar are pooled in-group (D) alongside Iraq, Kazakhstan and Iran.
