The Competitions Committee of the Qatar Basketball Federation announces the postponement of the match between Al-Arabi and Al-Shamal, which will now be played on Monday, 22 December 2025, at 7:00 PM at Al-Gharafa Hall. The postponement is due to Al-Arabi’s commitment to a match against Kuwait Club (Kuwait) in the FIBA West Asia Super League (FIBA WASL), scheduled for Monday, 15 December 2025.
Originally, Al-Shamal was set to face Al-Arabi at 8:00 PM on Saturday, 13 December, at Al-Gharafa Hall, as the final match of Round 8 of the General Basketball League.
The Competitions Committee has also decided to move all upcoming men’s General League matches to Al-Gharafa Hall instead of the Federation Hall. Accordingly:
• On Monday, 15 December, Al-Khor will face Al-Ahli at 6:00 PM.
• On the same day, Qatar Club will take on Al-Gharafa at 8:00 PM, both as part of Round 9 fixtures.
In related league action, Round 7 of the General League for the 2025-2026 sports season will conclude on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, with the following matches at the Federation Hall:
• Al-Ahli vs Al-Shamal at 6:00 PM
• Al-Arabi vs Al-Rayyan at 8:00 PM
Current League Standings:
Al-Shamal leads the table with 10 points from 6 matches, level on points with Al-Sadd in second place. Al-Wakrah sits third, followed by Al-Arabi in fourth (from 5 matches) and Al-Rayyan in fifth (also from 5 matches). Al-Ahli is sixth with 8 points, tied with Al-Gharafa in seventh. Al-Khor occupies eighth place with 6 points from 6 matches, level with Qatar Club, which is in ninth and last place.
Qatar Club will sit out Round 7 as per the competition system, which grants each team one rest round during the season.
