The Qatar U16 Basketball League for the 2026-2027 sports season will resume with the second round of competition, which gets underway on Sunday, September 27, with two games at the Qatar Basketball Federation Hall. Al Gharafa will face Al Khor at 5:00 PM, while Al Shamal takes on Al Wakrah at 6:30 PM.
Round 2 action will continue on Sunday, October 4, with two additional fixtures. Al Sadd will meet Qatar SC at 5:00 PM, followed by Al Rayyan against Al Arabi at 6:30 PM. Al Ahli will have a bye during this round.
The league opened with the first round on September 13, featuring four matches that saw victories for Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Al Gharafa, and Al Ahli. Meanwhile, Al Arabi will begin its campaign in Round 2 after receiving a bye in the opening round.
In the opening round, Al Rayyan secured a 98-54 victory over Qatar SC, while Al Sadd defeated Al Khor 85-35, earning both teams their first two points of the competition.
The first round concluded with two more matches, as Al Gharafa overcame Al Wakrah 75-49, while Al Ahli defeated Al Shamal 72-48. Both teams claimed their first win of the season and collected two points.
At the end of Round 1, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Al Gharafa, and Al Ahli were tied at the top of the standings with two points each, while Qatar SC, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, and Al Shamal each had one point.
Nine clubs are participating in this season’s U16 Basketball League: Qatar SC, Al Rayyan, Al Khor, Al Sadd, Al Wakrah, Al Gharafa, Al Ahli, Al Shamal, and Al Arabi.
The competition will continue with Round 3 on Sunday, November 1 and Sunday, November 8. On November 1, Al Khor will face Al Shamal at 5:00 PM, followed by Qatar SC against Al Gharafa at 6:30 PM.
Round 3 will conclude on Sunday, November 8, with Al Arabi meeting Al Sadd at 5:00 PM and Al Wakrah facing Al Ahli at 6:30 PM, while Al Rayyan will have a bye.
Round 4 will be played on Sunday, November 15 and Sunday, November 22. On November 15, Al Shamal will take on Qatar SC at 5:00 PM, while Al Ahli faces Al Khor at 6:30 PM.
The fourth round will conclude on Sunday, November 22, with Al Gharafa facing Al Arabi at 5:00 PM, followed by the highly anticipated clash between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan at 6:30 PM. Al Wakrah will have a bye during this round
