The Men’s Basketball General League for the 2026-2027 sports season will continue on Thursday, October 22, 2026, with two matches scheduled as part of Round 3. Al Ahli will take on Al Khor at 6:00 PM, while Al Shamal will face Al Gharafa at 8:00 PM. Both games will be held at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall, with all four teams aiming to secure victory and improve their position in the standings.
Attention will focus on the opening matchup between Al Ahli and Al Khor, as both teams seek their first win of the competition after suffering defeats in their previous appearances.
Al Ahli lost to Al Gharafa 68-76 in their Round 1 encounter on October 13, while Al Khor was defeated by Al Sadd 79-102 on October 17 in the opening game of Round 2.
In the second match, Al Shamal will take on Al Gharafa, with the latter looking to claim its second victory of the season after defeating Al Ahli 76-68 in Round 1.
Meanwhile, Al Shamal enters the contest following a 62-76 loss to Al Wakrah on October 13 and will be eager to bounce back and record its first win of the championship.
Previous league matches have seen a strong start from Al Sadd, which secured two consecutive victories. The team defeated Qatar SC 102-65 on October 10 before overcoming Al Khor 102-79 on October 17.
Al Sadd has collected four points from its two victories, making it the strongest starter among the teams that have played two games so far. Qatar SC earned one point following its loss to Al Sadd, while Al Ahli, Al Shamal, and Al Khor also have one point each after losing their opening matches.
League action will continue on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with two Round 4 fixtures. Al Wakrah will face Al Khor at 6:00 PM, while Qatar SC will meet Al Shamal at 8:00 PM at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall.
Meanwhile, Al Arabi will take on Al Rayyan at 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Federation Hall in a postponed match from Round 2. The postponement was due to the participation of Al Arabi and Al Rayyan in the 38th Ellington Properties Arab Clubs Basketball Championship, recently held in Beirut, Lebanon. Al Arabi secured third place and the bronze medal for the second consecutive edition.
In another postponed Round 2 fixture, Al Gharafa will face Al Wakrah at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the Federation Hall.
Round 4 action will conclude on October 27, 2026, with Al Arabi taking on Al Ahli at 6:00 PM at the Federation Hall. Later that day, at the same venue, Al Rayyan will face Al Sadd at 8:00 PM.
