Al Sadd secured a 102-79 victory over Al Khor in the opening game of Round 2 of the 2026-2027 Men’s General Basketball League, held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall.
Al Sadd controlled the game throughout all four quarters. They narrowly led the first quarter 19-17 before extending their advantage in the second quarter with a decisive 30-16 run, taking a 14-point lead into halftime.
The team maintained its momentum in the third quarter, winning it 29-25, and closed out the contest by taking the fourth quarter 24-21 to finish with a 23-point victory margin.
On the individual front, ‎Jackie Ray Johnson of Al Khor led all scorers with 33 points despite his team’s defeat.
For Al Sadd, ‎Michael O’Neal Lewis delivered an outstanding performance with 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, finishing with an efficiency rating of 33.
Team statistics highlighted Al Sadd’s superiority, as they converted 40 of 84 field-goal attempts for a 47% shooting percentage, compared to Al Khor’s 28 successful shots from 71 attempts for a 39% success rate.
Al Sadd also held the edge in assists (24-17), steals (17-7), and points in the paint (54-30). Meanwhile, Al Khor committed 21 turnovers compared to 12 by Al Sadd.
Al Sadd had opened its league campaign with a 102-65 victory over Qatar SC on October 13, securing its second consecutive win and improving its tally to four points at the top of the standings. Al Khor, meanwhile, suffered its first defeat in its opening appearance of the competition, earning its first point of the season.
