Al Sadd opened its campaign in the 46th edition of the Men’s General Basketball League for the 2026-2027 season with a commanding 102-65 victory over Qatar SC in their first-round encounter, held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall.
Al Sadd started the game with a narrow 18-16 lead in the first quarter before edging the second quarter 21-19 to maintain a 39-35 advantage at halftime.
The gap widened significantly in the third quarter as Al Sadd outscored Qatar SC 33-17, extending its lead heading into the final period. Al Sadd continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, winning it 30-13 to secure the victory by a margin of 37 points.
On the individual front, Darius Malik Hall led both Al Sadd and the game scorers with 32 points, while Dejan Janjić was Qatar SC’s top performer, finishing with 30 points.
The statistical breakdown reflected Al Sadd’s offensive efficiency throughout the contest. The team converted 42 of its 75 field-goal attempts for a 56% shooting percentage, compared to Qatar SC’s 20 successful shots from 64 attempts (31%). Al Sadd also made 11 three-pointers from 32 attempts, while Qatar SC converted 6 of its 24 attempts from beyond the arc.

With the result, Al Sadd earned two points to begin its league campaign, while Qatar SC collected one point.
