Doha – February 9, 2025
The Qatar Basketball Federation is preparing to take part in the National Sport Day celebrations through a diverse program held across several key locations throughout Qatar, reflecting its commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle within the community.
The Federation’s activities on Sport Day will be spread across multiple venues, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum “3-2-1” Park, Oxygen Park at Qatar Foundation, Al Bidda Park, Stadium 974, Al Sadd – Lusail Square, and Aspire Park, ensuring broad participation from all segments of society, both citizens and residents.
The Federation’s participation aligns with the State of Qatar’s vision of embedding sports as a way of life, raising awareness of the importance of physical activity in enhancing both physical and mental health, while also contributing to disease prevention and fostering a more vibrant and active society. This annual occasion also serves as an opportunity to bring different sports closer to the public and strengthen the community’s connection with sports in all its forms.
Through its presence at these venues, the Federation is keen to provide interactive activities open to all, designed to encourage basketball practice, highlight its sporting and educational values, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship—particularly among youth and children.
The Qatar Basketball Federation’s participation in National Sport Day is organized in cooperation with the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Police Sports Federation, as part of an institutional partnership aimed at unifying efforts to ensure the success of this national event and to showcase sports as a fundamental pillar of sustainable community development.
The Federation affirms that its involvement in Sport Day reflects its ongoing social role and its constant commitment to supporting initiatives that encourage sports participation and contribute to building a healthier, more active generation, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
