The first round of the 2026-2027 U19 Basketball League concluded with two matches held at the Qatar Basketball Federation Hall. Qatar SC defeated Al Shamal 88-57, while Al Ahli edged past Al Rayyan 81-79. Both winning teams earned their first two points of the competition, while Al Shamal and Al Rayyan each received one point.
Qatar SC made a strong start to its campaign, asserting its dominance against Al Shamal and securing a convincing 31-point victory to claim its first win and two valuable points. Al Shamal, meanwhile, collected one point from the match.
In the second encounter, Al Ahli secured a hard-fought 81-79 victory over Al Rayyan in a closely contested and exciting game. The two-point win gave Al Ahli a valuable opening victory in the tournament, while Al Rayyan earned one point.
Earlier in the opening round, Al Sadd recorded a commanding 90-35 win over Al Khor, while Al Arabi defeated Al Wakrah 74-57. Al Sadd and Al Arabi each earned two points, while Al Khor and Al Wakrah received one point each. Al Gharafa had a bye during the opening round.
The competition will continue with the second round, which will be played over two matchdays. On Monday, September 28, Qatar SC will face Al Wakrah at 5:00 PM, while Al Rayyan will take on Al Shamal at 6:30 PM. Al Ahli will have a bye in this round.
The second round will conclude on Monday, October 5, with Al Arabi facing Al Khor at 5:00 PM, followed by Al Sadd against Al Gharafa at 6:30 PM.
The third round will begin on Tuesday, November 3, featuring Al Wakrah versus Al Rayyan at 5:00 PM and Al Khor against Qatar SC at 6:30 PM. The round will continue on Tuesday, November 10, with Al Gharafa taking on Al Arabi at 5:00 PM, followed by Al Shamal versus Al Ahli at 6:30 PM, while Al Sadd will have a bye.
The fourth round will also be played over two matchdays. On Monday, November 16, Al Rayyan will face Al Khor at 5:00 PM, while Al Ahli will meet Al Wakrah at 6:30 PM. The round will conclude on Monday, November 23, with Qatar SC taking on Al Gharafa at 5:00 PM, followed by Al Arabi against Al Sadd at 6:30 PM. Al Shamal will have a bye during the round.
