Qatar's junior basketball team will participate in the Second GCC Junior Basketball Championships due to be held in Sharjah, the UAE
from July 7-13.
Five teams compete for the title; the State of Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, and the UAE (host country) .
The Qatari team had attended a foreign camp in Turkey during the last period in preparation for the championship.
Bahrain had won the first championship's edition which was held in Doha at the al-Gharaffa club's hall. (QNA)

Qatar basketball team have won their two matches on the first day of the 3rd Asian Beach Games in China. The game’s format is a little different from regular basketball. You have three players per team playing in a 10 minute game. The game is a lot more fast paced and the balance is shifted a little towards skill vs athleticism, since the open court transition game is taken away and athletic teams can no longer just rely on their superior physique to get easy baskets end to end.
Our Qatar BasketBall team beat Thailand (14/13) at 10 am, and Bhutan (15/14) at 2 pm. We are undefeated thus far and our next matche is tomorrow vs Mongolia.
